Secondary Schools Renewal Program Group 3
CPS was engaged as Project Manager for design and documentation, Statutory approval processes and Superintendence of all contracts on behalf of School Infrastructure NSW under a GC21 contract
School Infrastructure NSW has identified a group of 7 High Schools in the New England/ North Coast (group 3a) and 8 in the Central Coast/ Hunter Region (group 3b) which requires improvements to increase street presence by making entrances more attractive and improve way-finding to increase the visibility of education to the community. The main focus of the project is to improve the point of entry at the street, activate the journey from the street entry to the administration building, and enhance the ‘first impression’ of the public reception.
The high schools included in the program are Narrabri, Peel Taree, Glen Innes, Toormina, Maclean, Alstonville in the north coast and New England area, and Kotara, Cardiff, West Wallsend, Kurri Kurri, Glendale, Francis Greenway, Callaghan and Merewether in the Newcastle and Hunter region.
Notwithstanding the multiple stakeholders that are involved, CPS has been able to maintain all 15 schools on a concurrent program for design and documentation to allow tendering of the works and construction to commence concurrently.
