Minchinbury Manor Aged Care Facility
CPS was engaged to coordinate changes to scope and design, obtain a Construction Certificate, complete procurement of the head contractor, and to act as Superintendent for the construction phase for the refurbishment of the 100 bed Retirement Aged Care Facility.
The scope of works included:
- Enclosure of a pavilion to create a new activities area
- Enclosure of a lounge area and conversion to a Namaste area
- New accessible toilet
- New lounge areas
- New dining areas
- New hair salon
- New staff stations
- New clean utility
- New external landscaping
- Rectification of floors in toilets and bedrooms
- Obtain Department of Health approval of significant refurbishment upgrade for higher accommodation supplements
The physical works on site commenced in March 2015 and were completed in October 2015.
The challenges included the contractor having to operate from a site with limited space, a fully operational facility with these works to its core, maintaining fire egress, integrating new structure with existing and stakeholders with divergent interests.
