David Hughes is the co-founder and Chairman of CPS. David is a civil engineer who has worked with some of Australia’s major engineering firms and builders including John Holland Constructions, Abigroup Ltd, Total Project Control and Lend Lease as well as the Olympic Coordination Authority. David has held many senior project and leadership roles in Government and the private sector over the past 40 years in the industry.
David, together with Ian Tucker, established CPS as an independent project management firm in 2003, following the completion of a contract role at the Sydney Opera House. CPS grew both organically and by acquisition. In 2008 CPS acquired Howie, Herring and Forsythe, a long established PM firm based in Hunters Hill and in 2010 acquired the Brisbane based Queensland Consulting Project Partners.
In the years leading up to and during Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, David was the Executive Director for all social and sporting infrastructure in Western Sydney for the Olympic Coordination Authority (OCA). Recent roles have included leading the CPS Project Management team for the refurbishment of the Queens Square Law Courts, major social housing project and NSW education schools programme during the Federal Government's stimulus package.
Together with the CPS management team David has led, inspired and managed the team of committed and dedicated project management staff at CPS.
CPS and the team have both international and domestic project experience which continues to prove invaluable to the broad range of requirements demanded by our strong and diverse Client base.
