Darling Harbour Pontoons
In April 2017 CPS was awarded the project management for the delivery of the renewal and upgrade of the wharves and jetties with a single high capacity wharf on the western side of Cockle Bay. This will be a world class on-water public domain which will include a floating public wharf and 330 metres of floating boardwalk for Place Management, Property NSW (formerly known as Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority).
The new facility will have direct and accessible connections to the forecourts of the International Convention Centre Sydney and Harbourside Shopping Centre with a new link to the adjacent National Maritime Museum. This will enable private ferry and water taxi operators to use the wharf and bring delegates and tourists closer to the ICC Sydney, Harbourside Shopping Centre and National Maritime Museum.
The new wharf will be able to accommodate vessels up to a length of 50m and a displacement tonne of 350 tonnes.
This scope includes demolition of an existing wharf, installation of telescopic piles, fixed piles, floating concrete pontoons, glass and timber decking, bespoke public furniture, LED programmable lighting, in-pontoon services including fire, power and PA systems, gang ways, directional signage, concrete structures and handrails which will be incorporated into a free flowing curved structure.
All works are due to be completed by end of June 2018. Media Release:
