Building the Education Revolution
After a thorough selection process, School Infrastructure NSW appointed CPS as one of the Project and Programme Managers for multiple schools in both NSW and QLD for the $16.2 billion Building the Education Revolution (BER) program aimed at modernising 9,540 Australian schools through the delivery of critical infrastructure.
CPS oversaw the construction of/or improvement to, multipurpose halls, libraries, home bases (classrooms), canteens and administration buildings, covered sports facilities and covered outdoor learning areas.
CPS treated every school project in its own right with a great deal of attention throughout the iterative design phases, cost estimates, construction approvals, benchmarking and variations and, taking into consideration the local climatic conditions, each individual school building project incorporated materials, finishes and systems that maximised energy efficiency and value for money with minimal maintenance.
As Project Managers CPS developed a systematic approach using a web based collaborative communication and documentation management tool, Project Centre, as an enabling system for the rapid rollout with 18 months of the building program incorporating a substantial geographical spread of sites.
